Buru is a mid-weight Euro-style board game for 1–4 players set in the 14th-century Majapahit Empire. As a noble in service to King Hayam Wuruk and his vizier Gajah Mada, you venture to the remote island of Buru to expand the empire’s influence through exploration, trade, and diplomacy.

Over five rounds, players secretly deploy explorers to different regions of the island to gather resources, recruit islanders, assign tasks, and pay tribute to powerful spirits. Esteem is earned in multiple ways — through tribute, pleasing elders, fulfilling royal decrees, tasking nobles, and holding sacred totems — and the player with the most esteem at the end of the game is declared Governor of Buru.

This Deluxe Edition enhances the base game with gold-accented Explorer and Esteem tokens, upgraded resource and fish tokens, and improved components from the Ambelau expansion so everything matches seamlessly. A custom GameTrayz insert is included, with space for both the base game and expansion components.
